- Nov 2 onwards every Saturday 2-5 pm EST
- Ages 9-10, 11-12 & 13-14
- Registration Fee: $100/Team or $20/Player
All tournaments will be limited to 4 teams and will be played under a ROUND ROBIN FORMAT. The Round Robin format will ensure that each team plays 3 games.
General Rules
- The tournament director, or his designee, will officiate the tournament games. Decisions of the tournament officials will be final.
- All players are required to exhibit good sportsmanship. Players engaging in any behavior that the tournament director deems to be "unsportsmanlike" will be removed from the competition.
- Only players that are on the team roster, and tournament officials, will be allowed inside the gated field area.
Roster
- Each team will consist of between 4-5 players.
- All players will bat.
- Each player must play a minimum of one (1) defensive inning.
- At all times, one pitcher and--at least--3 fielders will be on defense.
Time
- Games will be limited to five (5) innings.
- Games can end in a tie.
- There will be No New Inning after 30 minutes.
- Mercy Rule - 10 run lead after the completion of 3 innings.
Equipment
- Only official Wiffle bats will be used. The tournament host will supply the bats and balls.
- Only tennis shoes or turf shoes will be allowed to be worn by participating players.
Field Set-up
The field will feature the following:
- Pocketed backstop for calling strikes
- Home plate and batters' boxes
- Pitching plate, located approximately 15 feet from the rear point of home plate
- Boundary netting to determine doubles, triples, and home runs
Game Rules
- Pitchers will pitch the ball, at a hitable speed, while one foot is in contact with the pitching plate
- Pitches determined to be 'too fast', by the tournament official, will not be counted
- Pitches that land in the strike zone netting, without a swing by the batter, will be called a strike
- Three strikes will result in an out
- There will be NO BALL CALLS. Pitches not contacted by the batter and not landing in the strike zone netting will be repeated
- Based on this rule, THERE WILL BE NO WALKS
- The game will be played without 'physical' baserunners
- If a batter puts a ground ball into play and it is CLEANLY fielded by a defensive player, the result will be an out
- A ground ball that is not fielded CLEANLY, by the first defensive player having an opportunity to field it, will be declared a SINGLE
- If a ground ball goes beyond the first defensive player, and rolls to the boundary net, the hit will be declared a DOUBLE
- If a fly ball hits the boundary netting above the DOUBLE RIBBON, the hit will be declared a DOUBLE
- If a fly ball hits the boundary netting above the TRIPLE RIBBON, the hit will be declared a TRIPLE
- If a fly ball hits the boundary netting above the HOME RUN RIBBON, the hit will be declared a HOME RUN
- GHOST RUNNERS (virtual runners) will be used throughout the game and will be managed by the tournament official
- Each team MUST have a scorekeeper to reconcile outs, baserunners, and runs scored with the tournament official for each inning
- All batted balls that are caught in the air will be declared an out
Tournament Results
- Results of games will be one of the following: WIN, LOSS, or TIE
- The tournament winner will be the team with the best competition record
- In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by:
- Win/Loss
- Runs scored
- Runs allowed
- Head-to-head
